Set up a system that allows people to disconnect form the power grid in an urban setting.
Idea Description
Using the most effective means of power conversion from wind and sun and any other source, we put together packages flexible enough to be customized to the available resources and various bylaws. Finding a way to work with local enterprises would allow us to tap into local expertise while our broader view may be able to bring new techniques and products to those same businesses.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would continue researching what’s actually available as opposed to what’s talked about. Find ways to customize some of those technologies to allow them to work more effectively in an urban setting and within local building regulations. Set up legal and bookkeeping to track income streams and assure their continuance. Also I believe setting up a showcase of some sort would be beneficial by simply proving the possibility in a tangible way.
