Battle 2.0: World’s First Battle of the Bands broadcast and voted on live through the Internet
The Kicknote.com Battle of the Boroughs is a search for New York City’s most talented independent artists, and will be the world’s first Battle of the Bands that fans can watch live online, for free. In addition, fans will be able to contribute to the outcome of the contest by voting for their favorite acts on Kicknote.com. The multi-round Battle will take place Summer 2008 in New York City, and date/location specifics will be announced on the site as the event draws nearer.

This is what needs to happen to the music industry
watching artists live in the studio would be great! record companies seem to be fading judging by the recent radiohead album and that whole aftermath, hope you guys can step in and continue the trend!

I have read through a lot of ideas and this seems like the best one to me, by far. I played in a few bands as a youth and I feel like we lacked the ability to get ourselves out there - to really appeal to a mass amount of people. If music listeners from all across the nation could have heard my music, I think I could still be living my dream today. Kicknote seems like a bigger, better purevolume, and purevolume has rocked the music world. All of you music fans should take some time and think about how smart of a vote this is.
