Rain Driven Pico Hydroelectric Water Turbine Generates Clean Free Electricity
Q1: As with solar or wind energy generation, initial capital installation costs may not be fully recovered for many years. Also, like sun and wind, rainfall is not an around the clock source of energy. The hydro system would be yet another way to coax free clean energy from our environment.
Idea Description
When water moves from a higher to a lower elevation, there is the potential to capture its energy. An electricity-generating dam is an example. Advances have led to low cost pico hydroelectric generators (<5kW) that are currently being used to power homes in remote areas.
Large flat roofed industrial and commercial buildings collect large volumes of water on their roofs. Installing a series of pico hydro generators in the pipes draining the roofs could harness this free gravity fed energy. Air conditioning condensation water runoff and other water sources could feed into the same electricity generating drainage system.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
First, I would utilize free University engineering student brainpower for key calculations on energy generation, type and size of water turbine required, and basic system design.
The prize money would then go toward the purchase of a suitable pico hydro generator. Rebuilding and machining of specific parts to convert the existing generator to its new use would be next. Purchasing an electronic load controller to regulate the voltage and frequency would also be required before actual testing could begin.

II support any idea that use electrulysis of water... seperating hydrogen & combusting it under higher temp & pressure than hydrocarbons... producing ( deuterium ) damaged hydrogen.... deuterium hydroxyde? dideuterium oxide? don't make... H2O? I am trying to raise awareness to the most vital issue facing the planet... Water purification... is the key to purifying the atmosphere... just on of many projects being undertaken @MAD MONK & ASSOCIATES... Solutions for a world gone mad !!!! I like your idea... but where does electric power come from..? generators? turbines? use inductiion... to induce the flow of free elctrons from our atmosphere... into induction coils... I have a better way, & would love to discuss it in detail... We think of AC/DC electric motors as weak…more limited devices... The only thing weak & limited is our abilty to produce power... nuclear subs? totally electric devices... free-energy changes everything... If? I could get my many projects off the ground... hey iguana i have an almost exact idea mind if i use and develop this idea for my project? we're doing a scale model and investigating its feasibility we are like already halfway into the planning and we got to present it in like one months' time if you don't mind, could you reply to this and support and yeah u got my vote
