Online Dating Service that is a video-only format -- think matchmaking circa 1980's meets the youtube generation!
Idea Description
With the youtube revlolution I think it is prime time to forgo the "About me: I like cats and long walks on the beach" paragraphs found on your most commonly used dating websites and instead have a site that is about communication in it's natural state-- speaking, body language, tone of voice, etc. Youtube/video tape matchmaking of the 80's meets Match.com. We can not convey who we are with little paragraphs and photos 3 years old. This service would be a revolution, and is much needed.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
To hire web developers and programmers. To pay for internet marketing (i do not think i would use tv at all- i want this to be 100% internet based). To buy a camera so I can record all the "how-to's" and "about this site" videos-- i want the site to be non-textual as much as possible.
Vote for it now.

What advice do you have to help me grow my idea?
I like your idea; I want to improve your odds of getting funding I will vote for your idea if you will vote for mine. My idea is for a web site that raises money for inventors and entrepreneurs called New Idea website Check out my idea blob submission and visit New Idea Website and see what I can do for you. http://www.ideablob.com/ideas/4060-NEW-IDEA-WEBSITE The need for jobs is one of the biggest problems that a democratic government faces because creating jobs is an unwanted byproduct of business and industry. The reason I say its unwanted is the more jobs a business creates the more its expenses are and the smaller it’s bottom-line. If business and industry have their way they would run their companies with no jobs at all no management or labor. To deal with this dilemma I pr…moreopose a federal venture capital carrot fund that literally pays entrepreneurs to create jobs. The investment bank would be expected invest in seed level startup projects like yours and to lose money at a specified dollar per jobs ratio for example during hard times that figure may be as high as $20,000 per job and good times the figure may be as low as five dollars per job, by controlling this ratio the fed could roughly control unemployment. The bank will be expected to fund novel products and services and stay away from things like restaurants that will simply draw jobs from other restaurants or moving factories from one part of the country to another. If you like this idea vote for it and send the congressional letter from the website. Sincerely Frank Scruggs
Great idea with the video! But I think Match.com already offers video format, and there's another site out there, Friendswin.com that's doing the video dating too. That's not to say you shouldn't do it, but my only concern is that you are limiting yourself by making it video only, and losing potential revenue from folks who don't know how to create video, are too shy to post a video, or who simply don't want to take the time. (I know, I launched Listasaurus.com, one of the first video classifieds sites worldwide and it's taking a while to catch on!) I would say just research, research, research before diving into this! Make sure there's a market for what you want to do...e-commerce and the Internet can really be tricky... I wish you the best of luck!
