Idea Description
Psyche Sonics is multi-disciplinary research campaign investigating the potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. We are fusing modern technology with core shamanic and spiritual techniques to ignite mass transformation in consciousness. We use brainwave entrainment, electro-magnetic field generation, biofeedback, herbology, gemstones, shamanism, breathwork and sensory deprivation to train participants in states of heightened awareness. Our goal is to act as a catalyst for positive cultural change in this world through focused, intentional interaction with the kinetic power of consciousness.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Outfit an open-source, community laboratory for new technological developments and interactive group experiences. Invest in biological monitoring equipment such as EEGs, EKGs, and Galvanic Skin Response systems to properly measure data. Further develop our mobile brainwave entrainment "art" installation which allows participants to experience different states of consciousness in a safe and open environment. Fund continuing experiments in group consciousness and non-verbal communication. Setup a "Dream Lab" for shared dreaming experiments. Create a seed fund from which we can launch sustainable, long-term operations.

This is a great projects. TO be able as a society to sit down and experience altered states through sounds and other technology is amazing... I have expereinced binaural beats through this project, and it has helped me with stress levels, connecting and comunicating with others as well. I also beleive this is a cutting edge feild and really beleive our society needs to look into the science of the self, and I look forward to your research...
This idea has merit. While some of the beneficial effects of sound on brain state are known, the applications developed are minimal. The binaural beats I have sampled through this project are compelling and I have clearly noticed a stress relief effect. I think too many people go to improper use of pharmaceuticals to alter brainwave states, it would be soo beneficial to have sound as a safe and sane option to drugs. This could be huge! People diagnosed with ADHD could be just the beginning. Uses for people with stressful jobs etc. Nice work.
Yeah, there has been a lot of research by the Monroe Institute, and many more... http://www.monroeinstitute.com/ It has such promis in physiology, stress, and daily life. I am honored to vote and help such a project.

In this culture and this day and age I think this is the most pressing matter. If we are to make it through the current political, enviromental, and social problems of today we absolutly have to research and experience a stronger community and way of interaction. Your project proposal is short, but clear and awesome. I hope you get some signatures. Since the oracle gathering I've listen to those two CDs you gave me... a lot. I'm in school now and they have been such a blessing. Sometimes I write my papers with Attention Focusing on and my focus stays to the point for hours sometimes. It doesn't always work and sometimes it gets too intense, but for the most part it does. Then, once I'm finished for the night, I'll play sometime to calm me down into a sleep state, so I'm not up all night thinking. It's so powerful, practical and useful. I have ADHD and Dyslexia. This amounts to different issues for different people, but for me, I find that I structure ideas differently than most people, in a way that is not usually efficient. One top of t…morehat I find that I can stay focused on a broad theme easily and make all sorts of beautiful chaotic connections, but the difficulties come when I try to isolate specific ideas without relating them to much bigger understanding I have of the broad topic. It can be frustrating. I'll give you an example. Just last night I finished a paper that I have been working on for a month. It only needed to be 1000 words, but I ended up writing between 6000 and 8000 words, just sorting and flushing out my ideas. All my ideas were interconnected and in a longer paper I could have shown this, but because it was so short I was forced to isolate a couple of ideas away form the rest. It was an amazing process and I just finished last night, but extremely frustrating. Last night, I put on Attention Focusing and I zoomed through writing almost all of my paper, which I may not have been able to do if I didn't have that track. I think one of the greatest benefits that can come of research is helping kids with learning disabilities overcome the barriers of learning through brainwave manipulation. People with learning disabilities, no matter how sever, think differently from people without them. Often people with learning disabilities don't have the skills to communicate their fractaling thought forms, so as a society we are missing out on huge amounts of beautiful thought that is left unchanneled. Maybe, using binaurals is one way of channeling it. It works for me

This is one of the most interesting projects I've ever heard of. Binaural Beats etc. can be very strong but aren't used by the society. We need more research in this area!
