Idea Description
Cooperative place where 1,000's of fair trade sustainable products can be found in one place. Think exhibition or gift show for fair trade handicrafts online, a one stop place where fair trade organizations can share marketing costs and enable customers to get real choice and selection in the fair trade market.
Fair trade is a system where all partners in the supply chain, artisans, importers and retailers, share responsibility to empower each other to grow stronger communities and improve lives through trade. The model has been demonstrated as sustainable. One issue that has restricted fair trades growth is marketing the message. This site would do that.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
We have already put the technology in place online at supportfairtrade.org. We need to present it to fair trade organizations and work to develop a strong message. The funds would be used for development of the message, logo and community. We also need to launch it with a strong marketing budget.
