  Blogging is a great idea, find blogs that talk about babys, and become a regular blogger on these, have a blog that links back to your website.
  
  Another idea is to send out Press Releases to local and national newspapers.
  
  Read up on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) there are many places that give lists on how to increase your rankings. Simple things like naming your webpage on what it is you are looking for.
  
  Try using google adwords though there is a cost, your only charged when someone clicks on your ad, and this could be as little as a couple of cents. And the best part this shows targets your audience.

  People primarily sign up for blogging services or other types of social media services because someone else they know are on that particular platform. You should think about offering an incentive for parents who use you site to get other parents they know to join. There are many ways to do this. For example, get a sponsor of baby products to offer a coupon or free product trial to both the referrer and the referred for new signups. This way, users always have a reason to recruit new members.

  I would look at search engine optimization. Apparently, blogs tend to index well with search engines -- so long as the content is relevent and frequent. Also, it's key to get links from other relevant sites. So, as much as possible, try to reach out to those sites that could benefit from your content.
