Idea Description
The Cart Companion (CC) would bring the increasingly popular GPS technology to the supermarket industry. The GPS screen will be attached to the shopping cart and will guide the customer through the store to find their desired products. Customers can upload their shopping lists to a supplemental website and access the list on the screen when they reach the store. CC will also provide recipe suggestions while leading the customers to the specific ingredients. As customers approach certain areas of the store, targeted advertisements will play to take advantage of point of sale advertising. Customers can scan their products to see savings, keep a running total, and even see nutrition content.

The next steps would be to develop a prototype that can be shown to supermarkets. Also, the website would be created for customers to upload their shopping lists.
