Caffeine Packets
Caffeine Packets
Idea Description
These caffeine packets would be made available the same way sugar packets are made available. Imagine you can add caffeine to plain water, breakfast cereal, dinner, etc... This caffeine packet would be odorless and tasteless. The goal would be not to change the taste/flavor of something, but to add that little bit of pep one might need. The substance would come in liquid or powder form. It could also be marketed as a dietary supplement. Caffeine has long been used as a dietary supplement and has proven health benefits when used in moderation.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would use the money to create a business/marketing plan and start development of odorless/tasteless caffeine.
Vote for it now.

Q1: Is this already being marketed?
I hate this idea. Caffeine does not have many health benefits. It has been proven to cause miscarriages. It opens up the blood vessels to create more energy, but afterwards the body needs more to stimulate blood cells. If not consistenly taken, major headaches can occur. There are better herbs like Ginko Bilboa to pep someone up with better health benefits.
Now that there are added Coffee Shots called STOK in those little liquid creamer packets, I would think there would be a market, But the health issues that will be raised will cause you problems. IT would see that there is a market already with Starbucks success and all of the so called energy drinks.
I love this idea, the key would be to make it really really inexpensive!! Working hard for many hours sometimes requires an extra boost and I along with many others I'm sure don't always want to have to drink coffee or an energy drink to feel that boost and most importantly don't want to pay that much for it!! Great idea!
we call it sachets in the philippines. i mean the packets. we have it in shampoos, deodorants, toothapaste and yes coffee. all the major brands have coffee packets with sugar and cream which we call '3 in 1', plain black coffee and decaf.
Red Bull?
I like this idea. There is similar stuff out there already. But to make something odorless/tasteless and being able to mix it into anything would be awesome.
Mandakat-This is where the FDA would come in. They would not allow me to market a substance that would be that lethal. Those problems you raise would have to be addressed in the research phase. It would not have to be pure caffeine but could be cut down with something. My goal is for a substance that can be easily added to food or beverage and not change the taste or quality of that substance.
Here's the problem: Caffeine must be administered in tiny mg doses, and even a bit more is fatal. If you packaged enough for one dose, you know some tired people will take two or three packages. High doses like that can give you caffeinism, or even caffeine intoxication, which lead to strange behaviours, addictive acts like snorting the powder, health problems, and death.
Duckling-That is my question also. Would I be able to produce a liquid/powder form that dissolves the same way Sweet & Low packets dissolve. That would be my biggest hurdle, along with FDA approval.
I like this idea. I always think about it when I am at a luncheon or something like that, and they only serve decaf. This product would help in those situations.
WaterJoe.com is water with caffeine in it, yet I don't see it in a powdered form. There are many green tea products that have caffeine.
