A way to save college students money on textbooks (and hopefully have fun doing it).
Idea Description
Our website will offer a free place for college students (actually anyone who is looking for a book) to find the best deal on their textbooks by using our price comparison engine. We want to really reach out to college students to help ease the pain of high prices when purchasing textbooks.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If we were to win the $10k, we would work on ways to make our website more interactive and interesting for our users. This would include increasing the speed of the search process which is currently somewhat slow with one server.
We would also work on different marketing strategies to make ourselves more well known on college campuses across the United States through online, email, and print marketing.

Your venture is an extremely difficult one because of the fact that SO many other websites already exist that do the exact same thing, so differentiating yourself is key. When I was in school my favorite site compiled listings from dozens of sites like yours and added shipping costs as well to make my decision easy. You might want to syndicate with this site or others like it: http://www.gettextbooks.com/. The only other way I think to get more traffic is to post more content, videos, blogs etc that are targeted towards students. The affiliate program is important also, but without some type of different advanced features I'm afraid your site will have a very difficult time competing with what's already out there.
