Startup Business run entirely by an online community
Startup Business run entirely by an online community
Idea Description
This is less a business idea, but rather a means of starting a business for anyone interested in entrepreneurship to participate. What I want to do is start an online community website focused on starting a new business. The members will be able to vote on key business decisions, such as what type of business to start, legal formation, accounting methods, product/services, etc. As the company and the community grow, and the business established, members will be able to apply for positions based on their skills and qualifications, as well as their dedication to the project. Other members will be able to vote on who gets hired for what. Participants will in return be awarded partial ownership.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would use the $10k to get this project off the ground. Starting with hiring a web developer to put togehter the community portal, then putting some of the money into servers to host the site and handle the traffic. The rest would likely go into advertising to get new members onboard. I would try to set aside some amount of money so the company has startup funds available and eventually it will go towards incorporation costs so that the company's ownership can be divided among the community of founders and contributors.
Vote for it now.
