Save The Bees
Save The Bees
Idea Description
A natural disaster is happening right under the nose of the general public. Bees are dying by the millions. You might think "So what, I hate bees", but in fact, most fruits and many vegetables need bees to pollinate them. Bees are raised on farms and then sent to pollinate 1/3 of our food products. But entire hives have been dying off and death rates are rising. If this continues to happen, not just America will suffer but all the countries that American food products support. The bees disappearance is not just happening in America, it's happening all over the world. Feed the hungry by saving the bees that help provide the food we all need.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I will donate the majority of the money to facilities that are curently working on this problem to save the bees.
Vote for it now.

Of couse its like the film i saw it in class and i want to help salve the problem. After seeing the film i wanted to get more public awareness on the subject.
I am doing my part by letting a hive of bees remain in the trunk of my Fig Tree. They have been there 2 years and thankfully have not been Africanized. I walk right by their entrance and they don't mind a bit. I might have a bee keeper come and collect them though, because I am afraid the neighbor kids will get stung (we don't have a fenced lot). All the best to you. Bee strong!!!!
I like your idea. This is alarming as it should bee (sorry) The media needs to spread the word about the dying bees and get some action soon or we will suffer the consequences. I could not believe the number or my friends, family and coworkers who never heard of the bee population depletion. I have told many people to quit using all those hazardous pesticides and chemicals to take care of their lawns and gardens. I believe this is a major factor in bee deaths. Its sad to say that some enterprising people may take advantage of this situation and start a business that offers artificial means to pollinate crops if they haven't already. We need to research ways to save the Bees, not compensate for their deaths!
Indeed very alarming. I'm wondering with just $10,000 if you wouldn't be better off using the money to invest in starting new bee colonies. Like giving out seed grants to farmers to cover the startup costs for housing new bee colonies. I just mention that because educating the public will probably involve advertising, and $10k is not going to go to far to that end.
This is a very important issue. Approximately 50% of the entire U.S. bee population died off last year, and it's getting worse. This year even more are dying off. When you think about it, with gas prices as high as they are, and food prices already rising beyond belief, without bees to pollinate, our food supply is going to become extinct. It's definitely a problem that needs help, but 10K isn't much to work with unless you want to start your own colonies and help support your local population.
i would like to thank you for the coments on how i can use the money in a more sesable way. the free google advertising is a great idea as well. thanks for the support.
