  My advise for this product, since you are wanted more of an alternative energy approach would be some kind of commercial electric vehicle. One that could run on battery power or at least a hybrid.
  There has been a growing number of cars like this in the marketplace, but they are expensive, especially the commercial grade. Initially, I think you should first start looking at what these vehicles would be carrying before looking at the vehicle itself. The payload will determine the vehicle.

  Additionally, I would begin looking at what benefits this could have for the buyer. The environment is a good start but what else could this product do for the city?
  My advise would be the size. What if you could have a vehicle that could run cleaning and take up less space than normal gas run trucks?
  There was a link above that mentioned atv that are battery powered. Imagine if you could control a bunch of those for different areas. They would have to be modified be the smaller vehicle design could allow faster delivery with slightly more vehicles on the streets b/c of the coverage area.
  One other thought would be improving ice containment quality. finding ways to refrigerate ice longer and better. Just fuel for thought. hope this helps.
