A group of students in Syracuse University's Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Learning Community put together a short about Lavern's House, located in the Southside of Syracuse. Some areas of the Southside are the poorest in the nation. Lavern's House helps keep kids off the streets and in a safe, enlightening environment.

Dedicated to Rob Harris, who without his real-life experiences and willingness to create change, there would be no Lavern's House.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

The first step would be to ensure the man behind Lavern's House, Rob Harris, has enough money to keep his house. Lavern's House has moved around because of Rob's financial instability. Rob provides food, water, shelter, guidance, and a lot more necessities to kids. The money would be allocated towards improving those endeavors. Once Lavern's House establishes itself, and Mr. Harris does the same, we can look for alternative funding and maybe even a Lavern's Building/Offices.
