Idea Description
Evlove Intimates is luxury custom lingerie line that allows women the exclusive opportunity to design their own lingerie. We provide 10 styles for her to choose from, a selection of super-soft, luxurious fabrics and an array of exquisite trimmings that will inspire her to create pieces that are unique to her personal style. Once she makes her final selections, her pieces are hand-cut and sewn here in Chicago and sent out for delivery in just 3 weeks.
Evlove has been sharing custom lingerie with women through private lingerie parties (think bachelorette parties, bridal showers, girls nights, birthdays) and through our online design studio http://www.evloveintimates.com/designstudio.aspx.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
Half of the $10K will go towards expanding my manufacturing and production, which I'm so proud to say is done right in Chicago. Due to the custom nature of my product, I need to hire my own sewers to work with my ever-changing product line. Traditional manufacturers want nothing to do with me! The costs of training new people is a one to two month process in order to prepare them for the product and this obviously affects my cash flow. The other half of the $10K will go towards developing a new program to be implemented in lingerie boutiques nationwide (super excited about this)- I'm going to give my customers the option to walk into a local store and design their own undies on the spot!
Evlove Intimates is a really creative company! The lingerie is beautiful and you wont be able to find this type of quality in a product any where else. You will definitely get your money's worth. Keep up the good work!

Question: About how much do your products go for?
Hi StueyFresh - my products are priced by style so you're free to get as creative as you like with all the options. Styles range from $35 - $95.
This is a very creative idea. Everyone is made differently it would be nice to desing something for yourself!!

How will you handle returns?
Hi Avivamommy, As with any custom product, once you design it you can't return it. My website offers a size chart and all of my messaging throughout the online custom design process encourages people to call with questions. For anyone with special fit concerns, I encourage them to start by purchasing one of the pre-designed products I also sell which can be exchanged if necessary. Similar to the private lingerie parties I've been doing, the program I'll be incorporating into boutiques will allow customers to try on sample sizes of whichever style they fall in love with. This along with being able to touch and feel all the fabrics and embellishments up close really helps to ensure product satisfaction. In the year I've been in business, I've never had a return! Woo-hoo!
Jenny, i dont think your idea is a bad idea at all. In fact, I think it is very creative and clever. My question though is...why should I vote for your idea over another idea like giving to charities, clean water, organic foods, etc. Please give me the reasons why I should vote for you over them, and if you persuade me, I will. If not, no go.
Hi ameller, I don't know that I can convince you ....people will vote on the ideas presented to this community for various reasons. Some people will identify with a cause, some will evaluate based on a sound business idea, some will vote based on the assessment of whether or not the business is viable and executable. Some will vote on innovation or skillfully filling a niche. Without knowing someone's personal criteria for what they feel makes for a "good idea", makes it challenging for me to respond accordingly. I will say that I definitely am the "odd-ball" in this months finalists that's for sure! The great thing about Ideablob is that its for every type of entrepreneur- not just non-profits, not just philanthropist endeavors, not just those honorably out to s…moreave the world. Its also for artists, retailers, technology, and any other business idea that might fuel someone's passion and allow them to go out into the world feeling alive. My idea is something that is truly a joy for me and those who have participated in the Evlove experience. Its working and I would like the opportunity to continue to grow it.
