Community Cooperatively Owned Factory In Flint Michigan
Community Cooperatively Owned Factory In Flint Michigan
Idea Description
If were to be fortunate enough to win $10,000 I would, use it to open a small factory. The factory would make window treatments, floor coverings, and matching accessories. One aspect of this idea which may appeal to an investor is the products will be innovative in their designs ie; blinds airbrushed with leopard prints for example and horizontal blinds made of a combination of complimenting textiles, matching or coordinating accessories wastebaskets, picture frames, etc. My ultimate goal includes on site childcare and temporary housing for displaced persons.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
If I were to win $10k my first step would be to procure workspace. At Oak Center
a community group dedicated to providing help through employment to Flint area residents.
I would advertise in the local paper for donations many different items can be utilized to make the products.I would buy 2 airbrush guns, compressors, and an industrial sewing machine. I have already obtained many materials to work with. Honestly 10k isn't much money but with community involvement and creative marketing to attract donations and employees I am certain it will succeed.
Vote for it now.

How many people are you envisioning working at your factory? Do you have to run your business in a factory?
To start with I can see 50-100. No I don't need a traditional factory a large workroom would do well
