Idea Description
My idea is called the AutoFreeze. It works like a microwave but it does the exact opposite. It makes things cold really fast instead of warm. You can make ice cubes and chill your drinks more efficiently. I think it hasn't really hit the market yet because there is more of a need to warm things up quickly. Cold goods aren't usually needed right away. You could potentially have more cold products stored away in your cabinet instead of the refrigerator and save money from the electricity not used by storing it elsewhere. This idea could be exteneded to other places to quickly cool machinery or parts that are extremely hot. The technology needs to be developed still however.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
My next steps would include contacting researchers who could help me develop the idea. These could possibly be fellow students at Penn State where I attend college or other universities that would be interested in this type of design project. This would be my main focus at first in developing the technology and seeing if it is a possiblity. Next, I would work towards maintaining the rights to the idea so it will not get stolen by a large company. In addition, I could research other areas where my product could be used so I can market it to a larger consumer base.
Vote for it now.

Have you done your research (Patents, open market)? Do you have a prototype? Do yourself a favor and I tell all my clients this. DO NOT FILE A PROVISIONAL PATENT! until you have set up your manufacturing and marketing. There are companies out there that pay people to go through all the provisional filings and then they take them. I have 2 clients this has happened to. If you go to a Product Development Company if they ask you for a lot of money up front! walk away if they are good at what they do they will only charge you basic fees and then take a % of the net sales. This means they have skin in the game and will be there for the long run. Make sure there is an out clause before you sign a contract with them. If for some reason you need out or need to stop to raise more capital they wo…moren't own you. Good Luck! It is a good idea! Danielle
