Learning In your Sleep
Learning In your Sleep
Idea Description
I want to make a audio line that is best suited to help people learn in their sleep. While a person is unconscious(sleeping) a CD or mp3 can be played to teach them any subject in school or help learn facts needed for work. This CD can come pre-record for a certain class or have a custom CD for information from ones work.
Really?? Who would not want to learn everything they need to know in thier sleep??
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
My next step would be to research the best ways to help the brain retain information that is given to it when it is in an unconscious state.
Vote for it now.

Wow, i really like the idea of subliminal learning. since it is proven that it is possible to be influenced in this way...we have all heard of subliminal messages in songs, etc, i think this would be great. its like "pulling and all-nighter" with a twist lol. good job =]
*An* all-nighter lol. my bad
I think this is a fabulous idea

This is such an AMAZING idea. Now all you need to do is record 4 years' worth of college classes and you can get a Harvard education while you sleep.
I'm pretty sure this has already been well researched and it has been shown to be a relatively poor way to learn things. While you can, perhaps, memorize some specific facts in this manner, it can be difficult to connect them with other knowledge or conceptualize.
premed - figures! ;) Naa, that sounds interesting... I know it isn't as simple as recording something on some cd and letting it go. I'm sure that the device has to somehow detect what level of sleep you are in that enables learning, right?
This concept is not new. Why re-invent the wheel?
Why don't you try reading "Brave New World". Or, even better, why not listen to it while you sleep :D ! In all seriousness, this has already been widely researched, and has been found to be ineffective. I know it's always tempting to look for an easy way out, but there's really nothing like reading a book!
