Idea Description

A "toysumer" windmill electric generator kit to re-charge car batteries, using ultra-light parachute fabrics for the fan blades, to be marketed using the "Buy One, Give One" business model (see http://www.bogolight.com/ for an example).

This Idea is based on a "Workable Solution" for African developing economies, first prototyped by a 14-year old Malawian boy (http://williamkamkwamba.typepad.com/) and later show-cased on TED talks.

The final product will ideally be priced at "education toy" levels in the West and serve to bring consciousness to alternative energy solutions, teaching ALL kids about the possibilities of harnessing Wind to produce Power.

What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?

Work with a University engineering faculty to create an easy-to-assemble kit design that can be manufactured easily in any part of the world (ideally the "Give One" product will be produced in the country of destination as an additional job creation opportunity), and work with potential sales/distribution partners such as BogoLight.
