This looks like an idea that solves the biggest problem with blogs- I've got a blog, now how do I get people to visit it. Great concept. May even be adapted to other internet venues. Great concept, wish I would have come up with it!

How will the contests be structured?

There will be many different kinds. Some for bloggers, some for readers, and some for helping out (like you).

there are sites already doing this: blogtopsites.com, blogsoftheday.com, blogsearch.com, blogpulse.com, stumbleupon.com too name a few. there are also sites that do awards for new blogs.

Those are not nearly the same idea. Those promote **** and are unfair to new blogs, not even close to what I am developing.

While this might be a nice addition to web-land, I fail to see how it significantly improves social justice by making the world a better place not only for the well-to-do but for the least fortunate. I'd much rather see this kind of money going to more socially useful projects.

I will be interested in learning more..... I am unaware of the need but trust this will be a great addition to the growing interest in blog land. I read blogs but currently do not have my own.

I am new to "blogging". This website sounds as though it would be informative and would provide much needed support in direction to the right blog sites for the right "products" and ideas. Good job!

As of April 2007, there are over 120,000 blogs created every day. How do you propose to go through all of these and choose which to promote? What kind of a structure or software architecture is this built on? Do you have any actual plans for how you would implement something like this?

Intriguing to me. I imagine a blogging could help any idea. I have read very few if any blogs. Life is so darn busy. So if these guys can really write, they could write grant proposals or teach grant writing. So have a contest or two or three, where regular readers are ientered into a free grant writing seminar. It could even be done like colleges have on-line classes.
