Idea Description
Products to help keep aged/infirmed/demented at home-until death if desired. #1. Black Incontenance Briefs for men.
#2. Alarms with tone choices. Go off when person tries to get up unattended and this is not safe. Alarms now on the market are TOO loud and scary. Choosing and adjustible tones and volumes can create awareness withoug scaring everyone.
#3. Same for doors for wandering demented.
#4. Light and Water sensors that turn on and off with motion.
By 2020 20,000,000 people will suffer dementia.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
I would hire an attorney to see if my ideas can be protected. If so, would patent them. I would set up a non-profit corporation so proceeds could be donated to those trying to keep their loved ones at home and for more research and development on diseases of the aged. I would then contact the R/D departments of manufacturers who already produce similar products to see if they want to buy/royalty my ideas.
Living with a husband who suffers from dementia... I think of things all the time that could help me cope easier.

Finding the right people just takes phone calls and money. To find the people there are manufacturer's guides on the web. I would take one product and pursue it, then once that is up and running and being distributed..start the next one. I agree with you - there have got to be better ways of doing this, than putting all of our loved ones in "special homes". Even Doctors now think that when we are old or suffering from dementia, we should just be put away instead of cared for by our loved ones. Bah!
