Fufill my dream of having business making dress-up & imagination items for girls & boys.
Idea Description
I would love to have a small business operated out of my home making dress-up item for little girls and boys. Items that would encourage their imaginations. Items that are not influenced by Barbie or Dora or Diego etc. Simple, back to the basics dress-up fun. Capes, wands, crowns, tu-tu's, masks, soft stuffed swords for slaying dragons.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
1.Buy more fabrics and ribbon to make and offer more items in my shop online.
2.To buy and nice storage shed to use as a showroom at my house for on site selling.
3.To be able to make more items to take to boutiques in the area I live in (maybe-maybe not).
4.Remember to breath.
5.Use my imagination like when I was a child to dream up more items to make.
Vote for it now.
Make me a costume!
Would you like a princess or a witch costume??
With so many things in the store nowadays it seem that kids don't know how to MAKE-BELIEVE anymore. They seem to need to have a manufactured idea from the store for them to start to play. I want to help children get back to the basics of play by giving them simple props to start with. A cape, a mask, a crown, a stuffed sword, a tu-tu, a wand, etc. Hopefully the parents will also get involved and supply boxes for forts or sheets for tents, My house is a mess with all of the TENTS we have going on. My children have a blst and I enjoy making these with them. I am involved with them and I want to help parents and children get involved with each other in the form of the best way to learn as a child, BY PLAYING!! Thanks for all of your support and votes, Tammi
I think it is a wonderful idea. Children need to start using their imaginations more since the school systems seem to be taking away the activities that allow them to explore at school. Good luck and you have my vote.
YES! I feel the same way. Children are being influenced by the manufacturers and are not growing the way the should. I a world of too skinny models and BRATZ (and I am guilty of buying them for my girls), our young girls are not growing naturally. They are not becoming who THEY are but who society wants them to be. DREAM on and IMAGINE AWAY.
This is just what little kids need nowdays...imagination play instead of all those high tech games. Reading a good and the chance to dress up can give kids an adventure that they won't get by playing video games.
I love this idea. I tend to take this a little further and buy my kids funky clothes and jewelry at the thrift store that they can adapt for their own needs. My concern with this product idea is that there are many competing stores online carrying similar products, i.e. Log Cabin Toys. How will your business model differ? What do you offer that they do not? Spend some time thinking through that part as well. Good luck!
Good LLLuck to you and great idea.
I thank you Betsy and my other LLL friend, you vote a support is sooo greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU, Libby
Your awsome girl, I hope you win it, and make all your dreams a reality! Keep up the hard work!
Thank You Crystal!!
Children(people in general)need to learn imagination and creativity. The art of imagination and creativityhas been replaced with TV, video, games, & all this high tech "stuff" so even parents and caregivers don't have to be creative anymore. I believe if imagination and creativity was cultivated more there would be greater mental alertness and partivcipation and less depression and obeasity. Creativity is also a great way to channel stress. HAT'S OFF to YOU barefootlibby!!! May you win this $10,000.00 and many more $$$. Even more importantly, keep living your dream and God will provide.
COOL IDEAS GOOD LUCK (AND YOU KNOW I WILL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED)
Sounds like an awesome idea!
Best wishes for a successful new year full of make believe wishes and dreams coming true!
Thank you to all who understand and support what it is that I am going for. I get more enjoyment from watching my children dress-up and play during the day than anything else I can think of. They bring the magic into a reality for me. Being an adult it is hard to see how much joy sometime there really is in just being silly and dreaming and playing. I Think maybe being able to make costume and such is a way for me to never grow up.....:)
Cool idea. How about creating a couple of different "costume sets" or "toolkits"? In other words, here are the ingredients to make up your own costumes. All the things you mention, like capes, wands, etc...but also things like glue and glitter and patches and makeup....You could call it the "costume creator toolkit" or something like that. Good luck
