Creative, participatory, open source Idea/Information databases, to encourage enriching, dynamic, and democratic learning
Idea Description
These Idea/Info Exchanges take the form of parties, gallery openings, book readings, festivals, and/or live performances, and each addresses a specific, multi-disciplinary theme. All of the goings-on in each of these are documented through film, sound recording, journalistic and creatively written reports, and so forth. This documentation is then used as the basis for a magazine, website, and books, which are open-source databases of creative thought. Having such information available and free opens up infinite possibilities for collaborations on projects, development of independent film and music, innovations in teaching, empowerment through knowledge, and true enjoyment of learning.
What will you do if you win $10,000 for this idea?
The prize money would be used to set up the first series of Idea/Info Exchanges: an estimated 3 per year. Money is necessary to invest in space rental, documentation tools, promotion, and magazine/website set-up. The first exchange will be located in San Francisco, CA, in collaboration with several leading open-source networking non-profit organizations, and this is also where the magazine/book publishing and website will be based.
