I am the CA. Director for NFPCAR (National Foster Parent Coalition for Allegation Reform)& we are a non profit online support group for families who have been falsely attacked by CPS or the Juvenile Justice System. Our support group is developing "Miranda Dog Tags" as a "safe-guard" for children that will protect them from being forced to talk to "strangers" who try to interview them without the parents present. On one side of the tag would have personal contact information and the other side would have a brief "Miranda" statement for the child to use when needed. These Dog Tags can be worn by any child and presented when cornered by strangers. Directions for proper use will be included.

Perhaps some of the funding could be used to go towards education seminars for parents as well as speaking engagements where parents could bring their children to learn more about their rights.
It would be nice to see traveling speakers go around to the different schools, however, it's possible that there would be resistance to that. So if not that, then meetings that parents could attend in the evenings with their children.

This is a very good idea. If you have a website, you should post the address here. If you don't have a way for people to donate through your website, you should consider signing up with paypal, its free, and create a way for people who are interested in this (I would assume every parent would be) and if each parent donated $1 to your organization, you would have more than enough to launch this even if you do not win here. I wish you luck..

This is the greatest idea that I've seen in a long time. I know firsthand that Child Protection Services is "out of control" on a nationwide basis and daily families are being attacked and destroyed by their false allegations. Children don't know they have rights and they don't know that they don't have to talk to these people when they appear out of nowhere to interview them These Miranda tags are JUST THE THING to protect our children from these vultures. I will order several of these once they become available so I hope this idea is carried through as it is a MUCH NEEDED safeguard for our children. I'm voting here and I encourage anyone who reads this to support this cause. GOOD LUCK in your venture...and Thank you for your dedication and caring.

There are so many crimes being committed by cps and not held accountable for violating legal rights of the parents/children. There is a war being waged against the family structure by the federal government and a bounty being paid from the Social Security fund by the federal government to cps for every child they can remove from the family structure.

We forget these people are "public employees" and public servants" and "WE" the "PEOPLE" are THEIR EMPLOYERS" In CA. go to CA GOV CODES and read 820.21, this is their employment codes. If we in our work place would violate our work codes as cps does, would we be allowed to continue having a job?

Both my daughter and I are victims of the corrupt legal system and this is one way of fighting back. If the school violates the "rights" posted and allows cps to talk to the child, then that person needs to be removed from their position.

This is a WONDERFUL idea! My friend had her 8 year old daughter pulled out of class and stripped-searched for bruises on her body and questioned by the authorities. When my friend's daughter mentioned a 'brother and sister" they also pulled them out of class and did the same thing to them. My friend was not told about this by school or authorities. She found out about the "incident" a few weeks after it happened when one of the kids brought it to her attention. When she confronted school officials she was told there was nothing to worry about. They realized they had the "WRONG CHILD" once they figured out there was another child in the same school with the same first and last name who did NOT have siblings!!!! This CAN happen to YOUR CHILD too!

You propose a great first step. I think you should couple your product with a service of some kind. I was thinking a pamphlet or 800 number where people could educate themselves about their rights, and learn how to disseminate this knowledge to their children. I know that there are immigrant communities that host monthly meetings to discuss such matters. Maybe you could consider creating a community around the idea.

GranPa advised on Miranda Dog Tags for Children

As a GranPa in a multi-generation family, this sounds like a super idea. My children need to be protected by the tactics used by Government Agencies to question your children, in my case grand children.

When I think of the trouble my daughter had with her life, but had the strength to give Guardianship to her children to my wife, I am so thankful that the Child Protective Services didn't get involved.

Hopefully, the use of these Miranda Rights message with my grand children, should be a very helpful tool to Protect my Grand Children from unwarented questioning from the agency.

As parents, we should protect our children, our most valuable resources, from the grips of the Government and unconstitutional questioning by them.
God Bless.

I agree with Solofreecin, that this idea could be of benefit by all people, bio-parents and foster/adoptive families. It is imperative that we know our rights when confronting injustice in the legal system. Our children are more precious than anything else and we need to help them see that it's not okay to willingly give up your Constitutional rights.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Who will protect us from our protectors?

It's Marilyn again. Yes, we at NFPCAR have many biological as well as adoptive parents working togther for change. We have one common enemy, CPS. They are responsible for the destruction of thousands of American families across this nation. We must unite to bring a stop to this nonsense. It is no longer about the best interests of the children but the money that is made from them. The Miranda Tags will let the children know that they have rights under the Constitution and that they have a right to a parent and/or their attorney present prior to having to speak to any STRANGER demanding to talk to them, INCLUDING CPS doesn't get any stranger than them. marilyn fpls

Please make this applicable to all parents, whether foster or not, to provide support, as there are many, many bio families being falsely attacked. We are all on the same side when it comes to CPS and juvenile (un)justice. Another target market are homeschoolers who are being threatened with "educational abuse" for choosing to educate their children outside of public school propaganda.

DogpatchDaze challenges Miranda Dog Tags for Children

Difficulty getting the public to become aware of and believe "what" they could go through when faced by this crisis.
Advertising effectively and getting the word out to people nationally.
Filling orders and mailing with the current economy slump.
