Site Updates:

We are improving the site every day. Here are a few improvements we are especially excited about:

  • Forgot Username or Password? Now you can actually retrieve your username and password!

  • Are you a Top Advisor? The homepage will now feature the three most active advisors in any 24-hour period. Now, helping others might make you famous.

  • How does the contest work? It's one of our most frequently asked questions and one we are happy to answer.

  • ideablob Supports College Entrepreneurs:

Ideablob traveled to Atlanta this month for the International meeting of Delta Epsilon Chi, an association supporting future leaders in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Over 1500 students attended the conference to compete, collaborate and show off their entrepreneurial skills.

Two seniors from Belmont University in Nashville, TN - Kevin Jennings, an Entrepreneurship and Music Business major, and Sally Munns, an Entrepreneurship major - won first place in the conference's Entrepreneurial Challenge and received $10,000 (donated by ideablob) to help fund their idea.

    March Winner Celebration!

We recently celebrated ideablob's March Winner - John Studer - at his company in Boston.

John is the CFO of No Sweat Apparel, the Boston-Based fair trade pioneer that produces clothing and sneakers at sweatshop-free union factories in the United States, Canada and the developing world. John's winning idea is for the company to continue producing their newest line of organic cotton knit t-shirts at a Palestinian-owned factory on Virgin Mary Street in Bethlehem.

No Sweat is marketing these t-shirts wholesale (custom printed) to Jewish, Muslim, Christian and secular schools and camps in the United States, Canada and Israel. According to Studer and Neiman, the project has the active support of the Palestinian and Israeli foreign ministries, and has drawn rave reviews in Muslim and Jewish media outlets.

John is the second Advanta BusinessCard customer to win the monthly ideablob contest. As a result, he was eligible to receive 1,000,000 rewards points on his Advanta BusinessCard (or the $10,000 cash alternative) in addition to the $10,000 monthly contest prize. John chose the cash alternative and was presented with a $20,000 prize!

Kiva President Serves as Featured Guest Advisor:

Ideablob enthusiastically welcomed Kiva President Premal Shah as our Featured Guest Advisor for the week of April 14-21. Kiva.org is the world's first person-to-person microfinance web site aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Ideablob's Featured Guest Advisor program invites experienced entrepreneurs to the site each week to comment and advise on ideas. Shah spent the week offering his wealth of experience and knowledge in technology startups and microfinance to a wide-ranging group of lucky blobbers. Be sure to check the site each week to see who might be helping you.
