Teach For America and ideablob.com are coming together for an evening of fun and networking, and Teach For America is holding an ideas competition.
Social entrepreneurs from Teach For America’s alumni community will pitch their ideas for a new educational venture and take questions from the crowd. Once all participants have presented, audience votes will be cast to select the best idea.
Teach for America will award the presenter with the most votes a $2,500 cash prize to get their social venture off the ground. Ideablob is sponsoring this evening’s festivities.

Ideablob.com and Teach For America Team Up to Support Education-Focused Business Ventures
SPRING HOUSE, Penn., July 22, 2008 — Advanta Corp. (NASDAQ: ADVNB; ADVNA) and Teach For America announced today that they plan to work together to explore ways to help Teach for America members and alumni build and develop their education-focused business ideas through Advanta’s online small business community, ideablob.com, and Teach For America’s Social Entrepreneurship Initiative.
The two organizations will announce their planned initiative at a special event held in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, July 25. At this event, Teach For America alum and Atlanta resident Jessica Hammock will be presented with a $10,000 prize for being ideablob.com’s June winner for the best small business idea, as voted on by the ideablob community.
